Luke Jacomb, cast glass artist

Luke is a renowned glass artist based in Auckland. His studio produces an affordable range of handmade cast and blown glass artworks and homewares.

This series includes a range of native New Zealand birds in a plethora of luminous colours. These pieces look impressive installed as a single, cluster or flock. When wall mounted, the birds appear as if in flight, creating a joyful display.

New Zealand birds were important in traditional Māori life – birds behaviour was used to predict the weather or the future and each of our species has a different meaning behind them making them a special gift for the hardest to buy for person.
